Dr. Benny L. Beckum was born in Savannah, Georgia. he was saved at the age of sixteen and preached his first revival a week later. He has been preaching for thirty-seven years. He is now a full time evangelist, working out the Bible Baptist Church, in Statesboro, Georgia. the Pastor is Dr. Max Alderman.

Dr. Beckum's wife went to be with the Lord in 2001. He has four grown children and seven grandchildren. He holds four earned degrees and one honorary degree. He has written four other books.
