A nice, vintage hardcover copy of the book, "Life of Joisah Quincy of Massachusetts" by Edmund Quincy. This volume is the biography of Josiah Quincy III (1772-1864), contains great amount of early source material concerning the settling of New England, as well as information of the great families of that region. Mr. Quincy graduated from Harvard, served in the US House and as the 2nd Mayor of Boston. Eventually serving as speaker of the Massachusetts House and as 15th President of Harvard. Condition Notes: Grades good- to acceptable with age, shelf and use wear, binding weak at front cover, foxing and age spotting but binding still good and text pages supple and clean. A very nice readable book. (see pictures) owners name on flyleaf dated 1867
