Description
A nice, good, copy of the songbook, "Set Your Sails" by The Happy Goodmans. Toe-tapping, fast-moving set of Southern gospel selections from a family trio perhaps best-known for their frequent appearances on Bill Gaither's gospel performance series. Includes a few ballads thrown in for good measure and some very nice, ear-pleasing, tight harmonies, despite the obvious aging of the elder Goodmans. Pretty nice selection, actually, though a bit more suited to daily listening rather than the quiet reverence of a Sabbath observance. The song "Faithful Man" might be one exception, with its quietly moving lyrics and soft country ballad music about an aging "faithful man" nearing the end of his mortal life. Very moving. The title song is also worth a thorough listen with its equally moving lyrics: "set your sails and head for home/you'll find shelter from the storm/there's no need for you to roam/set your sails and head for home." 67 pages.
