Description

A vintage 1940, hardback copy of the book, "Slavery Times in Kentucky" by J. Winston Coleman, Jr.  A detailed look at the mostly domestic form of slavery in Kentucky where the need for large numbers of slaves was not required and most farms and estates usually utilized a small amount of slave labor.  The few large plantations also never seemed to have the large amount of slaves that were needed in the cotton and sugar-cane states of the deeper South.  With the large amount of original source material on the subject and concerning the Slave Trading business, this volume is a great source of research material as well as a very thought provoking read.  351 pages with photographs and Expedited Shipping!

Condition Note: shelf wear, ex-George Peabody College Library, minimal writing, underlining, but strong binding and overall clean pages.  photos still vivid.
