Winston Coleman, Jr. A detailed look at the mostly domestic form of slavery in Kentucky where the need for large numbers of slaves was not required and most farms and estates usually utilized a small amount of slave labor. The few large plantations also never seemed to have the large amount of slaves that were needed in the cotton and sugar-cane states of the deeper South.
